Alexis Martin

Alexis Martin is an award-winning playwright based in Upstate New York. She has directed her own original works in both staged readings as well as the full productions her work has received.

Her first play, Old Money, New Habits, was originally produced as a one-act by the Oswego Players in 2024 after being a first place winner in their 2023 Donald J. McCann One-Act Playwriting Contest.

A little while later, the full-length version was fully produced for a one-night-only performance in 2025 at the Redhouse Arts Center upon receiving a Support for Artists Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.

Alexis continues to write 10 minute plays, one-acts and full-lengths of many different genres.

Her mission is to persistently tug at the mask of façade with nothing more than a fake pipe, an idea, and an inquisitive brow.

She also performs on the stage when not at her desk and has had the great pleasure of performing at regional theaters such as Syracuse Stage and the Redhouse Arts Center.

Alexis Martin is a Syracuse Stage Artistic Ambassador, a proud member of the Armory Square Playwrights and of the Dramatists Guild of America.
